Day 33 Dampier CP to Onslow (13.9.09)

Left Dampier Sunday morning after having a look at the market and trying to find a piece of Glass Jewellery. The jewellery is made by a local artist out of Dichloric Glass and we saw it at the Seafarers Mission for sale. It is absolutely gorgeous so of course wanted a piece. We were hoping that she was at the market with a larger choice.........We drove to Onslow which is a very forgettable town!!!! Both Caravan Parks were depressing and ordinary and wanted top dollar, so we had lunch at the town beach, went for a walk along the beach and collected some beautiful shells. We weren’t able to grab a swim there as the water was really dirty brown and very choppy, not appealing at all.. We are all getting over the wind as well, wind, wind, wind it blows a gale every day. Can’t remember the last still day with no wind.....yes I can, it was Ceduna, how sad is that!!!!!???? On the way out of Onslow I spotted a dirt road and we found a free camp in what resembled “Mars”. It was lovely and quiet and no dust. Although we were not far from the road (500mtrs) there were no cars so no noise. Had jaffles for dinner and turned the lights off to watch the stars..... very nice. Tomorrow we are heading for Giralia Homestead. We saw an ad and it looks quite nice.....we will see!!!
