Day 34 Onslow "Mars" to Exmouth (14.9.09)

TODAY IS KEVIN’S 1ST BIRTHDAY – Happy Birthday my Beautiful Boy xxxxxxxxx

Looks like it might be a hot one today. Left early from our “Mars” free camp at 7.00am and are heading for Giralia Homestead which we hope is nice and has a pool. Well it is quite amazing what a bit of advertising can do.......Giralia in the brochure looks good, Giralia in the flesh looks disappointing to say the least. Very much the outback homestead, nothing like Pardoo and no pool.....so off we went towards Exmouth to see what we could find. Ended up at the Lighthouse Caravan Park in Exmouth, at least it has a pool which Maree & I tried. Staying for 2 nights. Went for a drive around town and was surprised to find that there is no cheap seafood. It is more expensive than in Melbourne and it is caught right here – go figger!!!!!! The supermarket was also very expensive $17.99 a kilo for Mushrooms......IGA have the monopoly in town, 2 supermarkets and both IGA. And still the wind does not let up. The awning even had to go down for the night...
