Arrived at Pardoo Homestead early and decided to stay for a week. It is an oasis in the middle of the outback. We have a site with lawn, and bore water. Magic. You have no idea how over red dirt I am.......I have cleaned the caravan inside and Barry has already washed the outside of the van. Fine Red dust over everything. The car is yet to be done but we have a few day trips planned so it is a little bit of a waste to get too fussy just yet. There is a pool here and we have been in a few times already today.
Day 21 – Day 27 PARDOO HOMESTEAD
Today we went for a drive out to the Boat Ramp where there were a few people fishing...... Brian & Kevin have thrown in a line but as yet no luck. We also headed towards a beach but unfortunately you can’t swim here. The beach has pristine white sand and turquoise water. It looks really inviting but also has lots of sharks so the pool at the homestead is the only place I will be getting wet.... also while we are here we are going for a drive up to the Caravan Park at 80 mile beach. Glad we stayed at Pardoo. 80 mile beach is very, very busy and there is no pool. Also no swimming. Brian threw in his line and managed to catch a reasonable size Salmon that we ate for tea. When you walk down to the beach there are 4WD’s and people fishing as far as you can see both ways up and down the beach. A real fishing spot for the “Grey nomads”.......!!!!!!! on their way back south from Broome. Going for a drive to collect shells at the beach near Pardoo. Got quite a few of really nice ones, although nothing in comparison to what Lyn & Teri have collected.
Last night I managed to get a signal and get access to the internet. Very weak signal and only lasted a little while. Very frustrating not having access as my Blog entries are now over a week old.....
Barry has an aerial attached to his hammer sitting on the roof of the caravan, then down through the hatch and attached to the NEXT G card to try to get a better signal..fingers crossed for tonight...
We are staying here at Pardoo until Tuesday 8th September and then heading for Point Samson for a few days. Lyn and Group are going to leave on Monday and have a look at Marble Bar. We have decided not to as it is just too far so we will meet up with them again at Point Samson on Tuesday.....
